CORAL COAST 'HOT STUFF'
 |
Here's a real bobby-dazzler from a B052 seedling from Thailand, now known as Coral Coast Hot Stuff, which it is! It has a pleasant floral perfume, but its main claim to fame is these HUGE brightly-coloured blooms that just stop you in your tracks. Can't get past it really. Just nothing like it. I have taken a couple of very tall, fat branches and bag-rooted them for a couple of lucky customers - only $50 each - first-in best-dressed.

CORAL COAST CARA
Finally for general release, I can take a couple of branches from the truly lovely Coral Coast Cara. This photo does not do it justice, but the very long-lasting thick petals appear to have had their dark pink veins actually painted on. Mother-tree was from Thailand, as can be seen by those characteristic pointy petals. Perfume is a rather unique spicy hedgerows sort of smell. A good robust grower and would be the talking point of any collection - totally unique and beautiful. Can take two branches now - $50 each. . SORRY - NO MORE BRANCHES CAN BE TAKEN FROM THIS TREE FOR NOW...ACTUALLY TAKEN FOUR SINCE LAST WEEK WHEN IT WAS FIRST OFFERED FOR GENERAL REALEASE - SORRY - TRY AGAIN IN FEBRUARY 2012

FLASHY ANDAMAN
Here's another great grower, and came from a seed grown from the well-known Thai Andaman. It has a pleasant sweetly floral perfume, and is another new release that I can offer at the low price of only $25, simply because it is a mad multi-brancher, so can probably take off up to six branches, this summer.

CORAL COAST KAREN MALLARD
This lovely new cultivar with a distinctive carnation perfume was named in honour of a local teacher who was a good friend of mine, and died far too soon. A really lovely lady. Her family members have branches of this tree growing in many gardens now, so I can offer two branches for sale, at $40 each. The tree was grown from a seed of the famous Kimi Moragne, from the US, and it is a strange coincidence that the initials of the mother-tree and my friend Karen Mallard happen to be the same. Her family are very proud that this tree was named in her honour.

CORAL COAST 'LITTLE PIP'
Here's a very interesting young seedling tree that has retained the perfume and petal shape of it's mother-tree - Dwarf Watermelon - while other characteristics of the blooms are still changing. Seeds from the original Dwarf Watermelon (sold in Australia as Cherry Clusters) are hard to obtain, as only one or two, in any, will be viable in their small, fat seed pods. However, I would very strongly suggest that any seeds obtained, be grown on, because I am quite convinced this is where our new mauves and purples will come from. See picture below another seedling from Dwarf Watermelon, unfortunately NOT yet for sale, until the tree is larger. Sue Newhouse named this one Little Pip as the mother-tree was a Dwarf Watermelon...think about it? $25 per branch at the moment - a very compact grower, and also a semi-dwarf.

ANOTHER DWARF WATERMELON SEEDLING
CORAL COAST TICKLED PINK
Here is another semi-dwarf that was a 12-brancher as a seedling, and was named by one of our lady members. Perfume is mild, but flowers are very pretty, and grow in dense clusters. This would be great for a small garden or courtyard area, and only $25 per branch.

SEEDLING OF THE FAMOUS VANDA RUFFLES
 |
This new cultivar is much nicer that the picture shown here would suggest - memo to self - take a better picture this summer! The tree was grown from a gift seed from George Verbeck, from southern California. This gentleman is now deceased, but sent me many gifts, and I will always remember him as "Papa George" - his own name for himself. I have a few more trees from this batch of seeds as yet not flowering, so will wait for the best one to flower, to be called "Papa George" in his memory. In the meantime, this is the first, and though the perfume is not strong, you do get huge clusters of blooms that flower for many months. Four branches can now be taken - $25 each.
